Hello my lovely readers! This was the last book on my Audible account that I wanted to get to before I deleted my account. If I have the physical version of a book, I also like to see if the audiobook is available so I can get through it faster. This book did not let me down. Let's get into it!
SYNOPSIS
Ida B. Wells (1862-1931) was one of the foremost crusaders against black oppression. This engaging memoir tells of her private life as mother of a growing family as well as her public activities as teacher, lecturer, and journalist in her fight against attitudes and laws oppressing blacks.MY THOUGHTS
Ida B. Wells-Barnett was an incredible woman and led an incredible life.
I'm not particularly a fan of autobiographies, but usually when I do read them, I like to read the subject's biography afterwards, so I get a completely well-rounded view.
Ida was a force to be reckoned with. It's crazy to me that she was deemed "militant" by some of her peers. I loved her storytelling, her words and her work for the race. I can't wait to read her biography and more of her writings.
